Department of Physiology

The department at Gautam Buddha Chikitsa Mahavidyalaya intends to excel in teaching, training and research. The department aims to provide the student comprehensive knowledge of the normal functions of the organs systems of the body to facilitate an understanding of the physiological basis of health and disease. The department is well furnished and well equipped with the laboratories and equipment as NMC regulations. The department has dedicated and proficient faculty from renown institutes of the country. The faculty has high academic credentials and is devoted to the academic pursuits as well as research activities. The department has modern infrastructure and facilities the academic activities in the department are diverse and at par with international standards.

At the end of the course the student should be able to

• Explain the normal functioning of all the organs systems and their interactions for well-coordinated total body functions.
• Assess the relative contribution of each organs system to the maintenance of the milieu interior.
• Elucidate the physiological aspects of normal growth and development.
• Describe the physiological response and adaptations to environmental stresses.
• List the physiological principles underlying pathogenesis and treatment of disease.
