Department of Forensic Medicine and Toxicology

Forensic Medicine is a branch of medical science that enables doctors to deal with various civil and criminal medico legal cases in competent manner as in post mortem examination of sudden, unexpected, unnatural deaths or when person died in suspicious circumstances regarding cause and time passed since death examination and interpretation of various medico legal cases including age, injuries, rape and alcoholic intoxication etc. The aim of department is to practice medicine in a safe and graceful manner by imparting knowledge of medical ethics, etiquette and laws related to practice of medicine. The department is well equipped with autopsy block, museum displaying a wide range of specimens of medico legal interest as per NMC norms.
