Department of Anatomy

The subject of anatomy is fundamental for understanding the other discipline of Medicine. Knowledge of anatomy is essential to understand the diagnostic, therapeutic and operational procedures. The subject of anatomy deals with the gross anatomy, clinical anatomy/surgical anatomy, microanatomy, neuroanatomy, sectional anatomy and embryology. Department of Anatomy is furnished with all latest teaching modalities. The department of anatomy is well lit, well ventilated having Dissection hall, Histology lab, Museum, Teaching rooms equipped with audio-visual aids. Thedepartment trains the undergraduate students under supervision of talented and proficient faculty. The department fulfills the National Medical Commission norms required for teaching the undergraduate medical students. The department meets all requirements recommended by National Medical Commission (NMC).

Museum

Anatomy museum display the intricacy of human anatomy to students and public. The museum of anatomy is well- lit and well ventilated displaying human skeleton, wet and dry specimens showing different regions of human body to facilitate the active learning. Radiological Segment uses a vast collection of medical imaging including X-rays, Ultrasounds, CT Scans and MRI.

Dissection Hall

A large well illuminated, cross ventilated hall with teaching facilities for 150 students at a time and is equipped with audio-visual teaching aids. Dissection hall is provided with sufficient space for ante-room for students with lockers, embalming room, Storage tanks and cooling cabinets.

Histology Lab

Histology laboratory is equipped with a wide range of specimens from paraffin – embedded sections to non-decalcified bone. The lab is equipped with adequate number of workstations, water taps, sink and electric points providing light source on each workstation. The laboratory provides the facility of audio-visual and internet facilities linked with other teaching areas. Histology lab is well equipped with microscope, histological sections. Histology lab also performs the tissue processing to prepare the histology slides.
